Mounting
The Scion's gas door trim is fitted straight onto the fuel door's present surface, and nothing is drilled. Per QAA, the tape will hold for a lifetime without any damage to the vehicle's surface.
Surface condition
The tape attaches to the paint on the fuel door. Look it over for chips, fading, or peeling clear coat, and fix any of those first. Also confirm the door latches and closes flush.
Placement and install
Clean the door face with soapy water, rinse, and degrease. Once it's dry, hold the trim on the closed door with the liner on. Find the position where the paint border is even all around, then mark the body with painter's tape. Remove the liner, set the trim on your mark, and press it down firmly over the whole face. Weather and care
Install on a dry, mild day and let it sit dry overnight. Clean afterward with mild soap and a soft cloth, and wipe off fuel drips.

304 stainless with a polished, mirror-like face. At 26 gauge the sheet is thin, which keeps the overlay slim on a moving door.
Getting started
The grille insert package and handle set are bigger projects. The gas door is a single flat part, so it's a quick first piece and a preview of the polished finish on your paint.
