Product Description
Buick Regal 2011-2017 Sedan Polished Gas Door Trim (GC51575)
If you drive a 2011-2017 Buick Regal 4-door sedan, GC51575 is the fuel door piece listed for it. Seven model years share the single row on the Fitment tab. The trim is cut from 26 gauge 304 stainless steel, polished to a reflective finish and made in the USA, and it mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape, and no hardware is listed.
What it isn't matters as much as what it is. GC51575 is not a replacement cap and not a replacement part. You MUST have the existing gas door to install this piece. It decorates the door that's already there; it won't stand in for one that's missing.
The Regal parts cross-listed on this sheet split into pillars and rockers. On the pillar side, PP51575 has four pieces and PP51576 has six. QAA doesn't say what the two additional pieces cover, so compare the photos on both listings or call for help choosing.
On the rocker side, the two kits mount in different places, so they're not simple alternatives. TH51575 is an eight-piece lower kit, 1.5 inches wide, which spans from the bottom of the door up to the specified width; in other words it goes on the doors themselves. TH51576 is a two-piece kit that sits on the rocker and installs below the door, 1.25 inches wide. Check the photos of each before deciding.
Now, about how it attaches. GC51575 installs directly over the existing surface, so nothing is drilled. QAA states the tape will hold for a lifetime without causing any damage to the surface of the vehicle. The tape's grip depends on the paint below it, so before you begin, study the gas door. Clear coat that is fading, peeling or cloudy, chips around the edge, and bubbles under the surface should all be repaired first. Make sure the door latches and sits flush with the body as well.
The installation itself takes only a few minutes once the door is ready. Wash the face with soap and water, rinse, and dry it, then wipe it with degreaser until the cloth comes away clean. Set the trim on the closed door without peeling the liner and slide it until the paint border around it is even on all sides. Mark the spot with a few short strips of painter's tape. Peel the liner, line the trim up with the tape, and lay it down in one motion, pressing it firmly from the middle toward the edges. After a minute, press it all again. Open the door slowly and check that it swings freely. The Installation tab describes the process in more detail.
Polished 304 stainless has a bright, mirror-like finish, and the 26 gauge sheet barely changes the Regal door's thickness.
For best results, install on a mild, dry day and leave the tape to set overnight before washing or driving in rain. After that, mild soap and a soft cloth are all it needs, plus a wipe if fuel splashes on it.

Installation tips: Gas Door Cover Trim
- Confirm your vehicle still has its original gas door. This trim mounts over it and does not replace it.
- Unpack the piece and hold it in position to confirm the fit before mounting it.
- Each piece mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape, so clean and dry the mounting surface first; the tape needs paint or trim free of dirt and wax.
- Align the piece and press it firmly into place directly over the existing surface, working along its full length so the tape bonds evenly.
- Step back and check alignment before pressing along the full length of the piece.
These are general tips. Follow any instructions packed with your kit if they differ.
