If your Ram isn't a Big Horn, installation of the gas door trim is easy. It goes directly over the existing surface with no drilling. QAA states the tape will hold for a lifetime without causing any damage to the surface of the vehicle. Check the fuel door's paint first, since that's what the tape grips; repair peeling or faded clear coat, chips and bubbles, and make sure the door closes flush.
Then wash the door with soap and water, rinse, dry, and degrease. Position the trim on the closed door with the liner still on, adjusting until there's an even margin of paint around it, and mark the spot with painter's tape. The polished 304 finish is bright and reflective, and the 26 gauge sheet stays thin. Install on a mild, dry day and leave it dry overnight. Clean with mild soap and a soft cloth, and wipe away fuel drips.
