Install
Hold the trim on the closed door with the liner on, adjusting until the margin is even all around. Mark the spot with painter's tape on the body. Conditions and care
Mild, dry weather for the install, and keep it dry overnight. After that, mild soap and a soft cloth. Wipe off fuel drips at the pump.
Sequencing a bigger project
If you're planning the full 18-piece window package, it's a bigger job with many pieces to align. The gas door trim is one flat part and independent of that choice, so it's a good first step to see polished stainless on your paint.
Centering
Because the piece is small, a slight tilt stands out. After the dry fit, step back and check the border from straight on and from an angle. A helper makes this easier. Mark the final position before you peel the liner.
