Installing one long strip
A long single piece needs a helper and a plan. Wash the area, dry it, and wipe it with rubbing alcohol, letting it flash off fully. Hold the strip in place with the liner on and check that it sits evenly between the two marker lights; measure from each light to the near end so the gaps match. Run a line of painter's tape along one edge as a guide, and put a mark at each end. Peel back a short section of liner at one end, tack it to its mark, and have your helper hold the other end up and away from the surface. Then pull the liner gradually while you press along the strip toward the far end, checking against the painter's tape line as you go. Finish by pressing the full length firmly. A dry day inside the Installation tab's temperature range is best.
Why a straight line matters here
Any wander in a strip this long shows from behind the vehicle. Take the time to sight along it before the final press; foam tape is forgiving for a few moments after contact but much less so once it has been pressed hard.
