Each one mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape directly onto the post's existing paint or trim. There's no drilling and no trim removal on the Chevrolet. The Installation tab gives the temperature range and how long to let the tape cure.
Prepare the posts carefully, because the tape holds only as well as the surface beneath it; give this stage the time it needs and don't skip a post. Remove wax and polish. Repair any paint that's chalking, crazing or flaking. Wash the four posts in car-soap water, rinse and dry. Wipe each with rubbing alcohol on a lint-free cloth, turning the cloth until it stays clean, and feel along for dents. Keep painter's tape and a pencil to hand for the next stage.
Fit on a calm, dry day out of direct sun. Check the four against the photos and tell us right away if any arrived damaged. Number the posts on tape so each cover has a place. With its liner on, hold the first cover where it goes, adjust until the gap around it is even and frame it in painter's tape. Peel the liner, set the cover inside the frame and press firmly along its length and both edges. Look it over from a step back, checking the gap is still even, before the next.
