Eight posts need preparing, triangle included, so give yourself a full morning for it. Wash each with car-soap water, rinse and dry. Take off wax, sealant and polish. Mend any paint that's powdery, cracking or lifting, because that coat is what the tape bonds to. Wipe every post with rubbing alcohol on a lint-free cloth, refolding until the cloth comes away clean, and feel for dents. Have painter's tape and a pencil ready.
First, on a dry, still day in the shade, unpack the eight and compare them with the gallery, telling us at once about any damage. Second, match each cover to its post and mark a number there on tape. Third, liner on, set one cover in place, adjust until the margin is even and trace it with tape. Fourth, peel, set it inside the tracing and press hard end to end and along both edges. Check it from a step back, looking for an even margin and flat edges, before you start on the next.
