What they are. Six styling covers for the posts beside the side windows. The sedan's doors, glass and weatherstrip work just as before. Grade 304 stainless resists corrosion by its composition, with nothing plated on top.
Mounting. Each cover bonds to the post's present paint or trim with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape. The Impala isn't drilled and keeps every piece of its trim. Temperature range and cure time are listed on the Installation tab.
Six posts to prepare. The tape grips the outer layer, so start there. Strip wax and polish, and repair chalky, crazed or peeling paint. Wash with car soap, rinse and dry completely, then wipe each post with rubbing alcohol on lint-free cloths until a clean fold picks up nothing. Note any dents along the way.
Supplies. A bucket with car-soap water, a bottle of rubbing alcohol, a tall stack of lint-free cloths, painter's tape, and a pencil to write each cover's post on its tape label. A second person watching from a few paces makes six alignments much quicker.
Fitting. In shade, on a still, dry day, lay out the six beside the gallery and contact us about any damage or shortage. Label each one. Liner on, hold a cover to its post, slide it until the reveal is even and tape around it. Peel, set it in the outline and press firmly along the length and both edges. Compare it with its photo before you pick up the next.
