Specification
The Amanti strips are polished 26 gauge 304 stainless steel made in the USA and attach right over the existing surface with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape. QAA says this tape will hold for a lifetime without causing damage to the sedan's surface.
A clean rocker
This part of the car takes the worst of the road. Wash it, clay off bonded grit, and look closely for chips and rust bubbles. Repair those and let them cure. Then wipe the full three-and-a-bit-inch band with isopropyl alcohol and let it flash off.
Setting a straight line
With no door edge to work from, use painter's tape as a guide. Measure up from the rocker's lower edge at several points and run the tape along the marks. Each piece lines up to it.
Pressing a wide piece
Liner on, place the piece and check it from a few steps away. Then peel a few inches, press firmly across the whole width so no air stays trapped in the middle, and keep moving along.
Even sides
Measure where the finished pieces start and end from the wheel openings and keep the rest consistent with them.

For the Amanti: car shampoo, a clay bar, touch-up paint, isopropyl alcohol, lint-free cloths, painter's tape and a tape measure. A helper holding the far end of each strip makes it easier.
