Use a sturdy step stool instead of leaning across the Optima. You'll have better control of a long, thin strip, and you won't press on the roof panel or the glass with your body weight. Keep the tools you need, a measure, tape, cleaner, and cloths, within reach on the stool.

A thin bright strip draws the eye along the roofline without calling attention to itself. On a sedan, that's often the effect owners want: a detail people notice on the second look.
