Sill face prep
Work on the car when it's cool and dry. Close the glass. A spray bottle of mild shampoo solution and a folded microfibre clean the face without soaking the seal; wipe off with a second damp cloth and dry. Examine the face under a light for wax or adhesive and clear them. Then wax-and-grease remover across the face, and isopropyl alcohol just ahead of each strip.
Laying the strips
Line each 0.5" strip up with the face using two bits of painter's tape and check its ends against the photos. Expose a short length of tape at the rear end, press, then draw the liner forward while pressing. Once all six are on, run along each again with firm thumb pressure.
Next day
Let the tape settle through the next day before any wash; gentle soap afterwards.
Choosing extras for the Optima
The two AT accents and the TH16805 rocker kit work on the lower sides, so they're separate jobs from the sills and can be done another day. If you plan the pillar sets as well, PP16805 or PP16806, compare their photos with your doors and decide how much of the window surround you want in stainless.
