Product Description
Chevrolet and GMC Chrome Door Handle Covers with Smart Key Access, 8 Pieces (DH54136)
DH54136 is QAA's eight-piece chrome door handle cover kit for a group of Chevrolet and GMC four-door models that use keyless entry. The note reads "Includes smart key access," and the covers are polished chrome-plated ABS plastic, imported, mounted with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape.
Models in the catalog
The fitment data covers six nameplates. Several appear more than once with different end years, so the ranges below show where each one starts and every end year recorded:
- Chevrolet Impala, 2014-2020
- Chevrolet Malibu, from 2016 (rows end 2020, 2024 or 2025)
- Chevrolet Equinox, from 2018 (rows end 2020 or 2024)
- Chevrolet Traverse, from 2018 (rows end 2020 or 2023)
- GMC Acadia, from 2017 (rows end 2020 or 2023)
- GMC Terrain, from 2018 (rows end 2020 or 2024)
Making sense of the rows
Besides the end-year overlaps, the body tags are mixed: sedan and SUV labels appear on most rows regardless of model, and "Does not fit the Limited" shows up on several rows, not just the Impala. We have flagged all of it. The practical advice: if your vehicle is near the end of a range, or you are unsure whether the Limited exclusion applies to it, call before you order. The Fitment tab shows every row as recorded.
Smart key, explained
Smart key access means the covers leave openings at the keyless-entry points, so unlocking by touch keeps working with the chrome in place. The listing does not say how many covers carry those openings or whether there is a key cylinder opening, so compare the product photos with your own handles first.
Sorting eight covers
Find the covers with openings in the photos, set those aside for their handles, and then group the rest by door. Fitting the openings first gives you fixed reference points.
About the material
ABS plastic is molded to the handle's contour, then chrome-plated and polished to a mirror finish. The factory handles keep working underneath.
Install
QAA states the tape will hold for a lifetime without causing any damage to the surface of the vehicle. Wash, degrease and dry each handle. Dry-fit each cover by hand, confirming that any opening sits over its sensor. Then press it on firmly around all edges. The Installation tab has the full prep routine.
Sedan or SUV, same steps
Whether the kit goes on an Impala or Malibu sedan or on one of the SUVs in the list, the process does not change. Finish one front door completely, step back to check it against the body line, and move around the Impala in one direction until all four doors are done.
Test right away
Once the covers are on, try keyless entry at each covered handle while you can still lift and reset a piece.
Conditions and care
Install on a mild, dry day in the shade and keep the vehicle dry overnight. Use mild soap and a soft towel on the chrome afterward, never abrasive pads.

Installation tips: Door Handle Cover Kit
- Unpack all 8 pieces and match each one to its position on the vehicle, using the product photos, before fitting any of them.
- Each piece mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape, so clean and dry the mounting surface first; the tape needs paint or trim free of dirt and wax.
- Align the piece and press it firmly into place, working along its full length so the tape bonds evenly.
- Fit one piece at a time and compare each with the product photos and the pieces already in place.
These are general tips. Follow any instructions packed with your kit if they differ.
