Three model years of the Saturn Ion 4-door sedan, 2005 through 2007, are listed for this fuel door accent. GC45410 is a single piece of 304 stainless steel, 26 gauge, polished to a bright finish, made in the USA, and supplied with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape already attached.
Know this before ordering: GC45410 is not a replacement cap and not a replacement part. You MUST have the existing gas door to install this piece. It's decorative trim that sits on top of the Ion's own door.
A fitment window this narrow is easy to miss by a year, so check your Ion's model year. The listing covers the sedan only.
Ion sedan or quad coupe?
That last point matters because the Ion parts cross-listed here include one for a different body. PP45412 is a four-piece pillar post set tagged for the Quad Coupe, while PP45410 (four pieces) and PP45411 (six pieces) are tagged for the sedan. This gas door trim is listed only for the sedan, so if you own a Quad Coupe, call before ordering it. QAA doesn't describe what PP45411's additional pieces cover.

How it attaches
The trim installs directly over the existing surface, with no drilling. QAA states the tape will hold for a lifetime without causing any damage to the surface of the vehicle. Paint condition decides how well that works. Examine the gas door for chips, flaking or cloudy clear coat, and bubbling, and repair any of it first. Check that the door closes flush, too.
Installing it
Wash, rinse, and dry the door; then degrease until your cloth stays clean. Hold the trim on the closed door with the liner still attached and adjust until the paint border is the same width on all sides. Mark the spot with painter's tape. Remove the liner, align, and press firmly over the entire piece, then once more after a minute. Open the door slowly to make sure it clears. See the Installation tab for more.
Finish and care
The polished 304 surface is reflective, and 26 gauge sheet keeps it slim on the door. Install on a mild, dry day and leave it dry overnight. Clean with gentle soap and a soft cloth, and wipe away any fuel drips.
