Saturn Aura 2007-2009 Sedan Polished Gas Door Trim (GC47415)

The trim is a single piece of 304 stainless steel, 26 gauge thick, with a polished, reflective finish. It's made in the USA and mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape.
It is not a replacement cap and not a replacement part. You MUST have the existing gas door to install this piece. It bonds to the outside of the Aura's own door, so that door has to be present and working.

The rocker kit and the bezel
TH47415 is an eight-piece lower kit, 2 inches wide, noted "W/ trim crease," and it spans from the bottom of the door up to the specified width. LP47415 is a one-piece license plate bezel. Together with this gas door trim and a pillar set, those parts would put polished stainless on the side, the pillars and the back of the car.
One small job first
Of everything listed, the gas door trim takes the least time. It's a single flat piece, with no second piece to keep even with it, so it's a good first install and a chance to see the finish against your paint before ordering the larger sets.
Mounting and paint
No drilling is involved: it installs directly over the existing surface. QAA states the tape will hold for a lifetime without causing any damage to the surface of the vehicle. Because the tape bonds to paint, inspect the gas door first. Repair any lifting or hazy clear coat, edge chips, or bubbles, and make sure the door closes flush.
The fit
Clean with soap and water, dry, and wipe with degreaser. Keep the liner on as you hold the trim against the closed door and center it so the margin of paint around it is the same on every side. Mark the spot with painter's tape. Then peel the liner, align, and press hard all over the face, pressing again after a minute. Open the door gently to confirm it clears. Finish and upkeep
The polished 304 stainless is bright, and 26 gauge keeps it thin. Pick a dry, mild day to install, ideally out of direct sun and wind, and give it overnight to set before rain or washing. Clean with a soft cloth and gentle soap, and wipe off fuel spills.
