Product Description
Saturn Vue 2003-2007 Polished Stainless Gas Door Cover Trim (GC43440)
Made for the 2003-2007 Saturn Vue 4-door SUV, GC43440 is a one-piece stainless overlay for the fuel door. The material is 304 stainless steel at 26 gauge with a polished finish, made in the USA. 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape handles the mounting.
Please note: it is not a replacement cap and not a replacement part. You MUST have the existing gas door to install this piece. It decorates the door you already have and won't substitute for a missing one.
The Fitment tab lists a single row, Saturn Vue 2003-2007, 4-door SUV, five model years in all.
Plenty of company. The list of cross-listed Vue parts is long, which is handy if you want the whole vehicle to look coordinated:
- LP43440, a one-piece license plate bezel.
- Three pillar post sets: PP43440 (four pieces), PP43441 (six) and PP43442 (ten). The sheet doesn't describe what the additional Vue pieces cover, so each listing's photos are the best guide.
- RD43440, a one-piece rear deck accent, sold on its own listing.
- SGR43440, an eight-piece "VUE" logo decal with emblem, sold as a set of two. Its note also says "HYBRID" logo decal, which doesn't match the title, so we've flagged it; ask before ordering.
- ST43440, a four-piece door sill rocker trim at 1.625 inches.
Four more are referenced by number only (TH43441, TH43442, WQ43440 and PP43443); their details aren't on this sheet.
Where to begin. With that many options, it helps to start small. The gas door accent is a single flat piece with nothing to pair, so it takes only a few minutes and shows you how polished stainless looks on your Vue's paint color. If you like it, the bezel, pillars and sill trim can follow one at a time.
Before ordering. Confirm your Vue is a 2003-2007 model and that its gas door is present, undamaged and closes properly.
Paint first, then trim. GC43440 installs directly over the existing surface, so nothing gets drilled. QAA states the tape will hold for a lifetime without causing any damage to the surface of the vehicle. That bond depends on the paint, though. Check the door's face for fading, peeling clear coat or chips at the edges, and repair anything you find. Confirm the door shuts flush, too.
Fitting. Wash the door, dry it, and wipe it down with degreaser. Hold the cover in place without removing the liner, centering it so the strip of paint showing around it is even. Mark with painter's tape. Then peel the liner, align, and press firmly over every bit of the surface. A second press after a minute helps. Open the door slowly to make sure nothing catches. The Installation tab has the details.
Finish. The polished 304 surface is bright and reflective, and at 26 gauge it's very thin. Install on a mild, dry day and let it set overnight before it gets wet. Clean it with gentle soap and a soft cloth, and wipe away fuel drips after filling up.

Installation tips: Gas Door Cover Trim
- Confirm your vehicle still has its original gas door. This trim mounts over it and does not replace it.
- Unpack the piece and hold it in position to confirm the fit before mounting it.
- Each piece mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape, so clean and dry the mounting surface first; the tape needs paint or trim free of dirt and wax.
- Align the piece and press it firmly into place directly over the existing surface, working along its full length so the tape bonds evenly.
- Step back and check alignment before pressing along the full length of the piece.
These are general tips. Follow any instructions packed with your kit if they differ.
