Step by step
Wash the door face and the paint right around it. Rinse, then wipe with a degreaser to remove wax. Let it dry. With the liner still on, set the trim in place on the closed door and check the margin on all sides. Put a small piece of painter's tape on the body as a reference. Peel the liner, align, and press firmly from the center out to the edges. Press again a minute later. Open and close the door gently to confirm it clears. Conditions
Pick a mild, dry day. Cold paint and hot direct sun both make adhesive harder to work with. Keep water off the door overnight.
