Mark the spot with painter's tape. Peel the liner, line the trim up with your marks, and press it down in one move rather than sliding it. Install on a mild, dry day and let the tape set overnight before rain or washing. After that, clean with mild soap and a soft cloth, and wipe away any fuel splashes.
