Confirm, too, that the door closes flush.
For a clean fit, start with soap and water, then rinse and dry the door thoroughly before wiping the face with degreaser. Hold the trim in position on the closed door with the liner still on. Shift it slowly until the paint showing around it forms an even border, and mark that spot with a couple of strips of painter's tape. Now peel the liner, place the trim to the tape, and press firmly across its whole surface. Give it another firm press after a minute. Open the door slowly to check that it clears. The polished 304 stainless has a bright, reflective look, and 26 gauge sheet sits close to the door. Install on a mild, dry day and let the tape set overnight before any rain. Clean with mild soap and a soft cloth, and wipe away fuel drips after fill-ups.
