Each cover is 26 gauge 304 stainless steel, polished and made in the USA. There's no plated coat to wear through; the finish is the steel. Covers this thin lie close to the panel underneath. They attach with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape directly over the existing surface, so there's no drilling and nothing is removed.
Ten covers means organisation is half the job. Here's an approach that keeps it under control.
Start with the Installation tab. It gives the tape's working temperature and cure time; plan your day around both. Choose dry weather and a shaded spot.
Unpack onto a clean towel and lay out the ten covers. Compare each with the photos. If one is bent or missing, call before you clean.
Clean thoroughly. Wash the pillar faces with mild car soap, rinse and dry. Wipe each with isopropyl alcohol on a lint-free cloth and let it evaporate. Tape won't bond to wax or ceramic coating, so remove it where covers will sit.
Map everything before peeling. Hold each cover in place with its liner on, line up the edges and mark them with painter's tape, then write its position on the liner in pencil.
Work through the ten Rav4 covers in pairs. Peel, place on the marks, and press firmly along the full length and both edges. After each couple of Rav4 covers, check them from a distance. A helper standing a few paces away makes it easier.
