Tools. Mild car soap, a bucket and sponge, isopropyl alcohol, lint-free cloths, painter's tape and a pencil. A helper is useful for sighting the lines.
Prep. Work on a dry, mild day in the shade. Count six covers and check each against the photos, calling if anything is bent or missing. Wash the pillar faces, rinse and dry. Wipe each with isopropyl alcohol and let it flash off. Remove wax or ceramic coating where the covers will sit, because the tape needs a bare face.
Dry-fit. Use the gallery to set out the six Rav4 covers in order. With liners on, hold each one in place, line up its edges and mark them with painter's tape. Pencil the location on the liner. Stainless steel is the material for all six.
Fit. One cover at a time: peel, place on the marks, and press firmly along the whole length and both edges. Step back after every second cover to check that they match.

Care. After the tape cures, the RAV4's six covers wash with ordinary car soap and dry with a soft towel.
