What they do. Nothing beyond looks. The four covers sit over the posts, and the Cadillac's doors, glass and seals carry on as normal. Corrosion resistance comes from the 304 alloy, so the polish isn't a plated skin.
Mounting. Each cover mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape set straight onto the post's existing surface. No drilling, and nothing is taken off the car. Read the Installation tab for the temperature window and cure period.
Preparation. Go post by post. Wash with car-soap water, rinse, dry thoroughly. Strip off wax, sealant or polish. Repair paint that's chalky, crazed or peeling first, because that's the coat the tape bonds to. Finish with rubbing alcohol on fresh lint-free cloth until nothing shows, and run a fingertip along for dents. Keep low-tack painter's tape, a pencil and a clean towel close by.
Fitting. Work in the shade on a dry, still day. Lay the four out beside the gallery, checking they match the long-version photos, and tell us at once about any damage. Dry-fit each with its liner on until the border is even, mask its outline and pencil a number on each mask. One cover at a time, peel the liner, set it in its mask and press firmly along its full length and both edges. When all four are on, lift the masks and look along every margin.
Trouble. A long cover that won't sit flat on your CTS should keep its liner on while you call 877-752-3811; don't force it. After curing, wash the Cadillac's covers with car soap and water and dry with a soft towel.
