A clear-out of wax, sealant and polish, with any chalky, crazed or flaking paint repaired, since that coat is what the tape grips. Then a degrease with rubbing alcohol on lint-free cloth, refolding until fresh cloth stays clean. Feel each post for dents as you finish.
On a still, dry day, park the Cadillac in shade. Compare the four covers with the gallery and tell us at once if anything's damaged. Dry-fit each with its liner on, shift it until the border is even and mask round it with low-tack painter's tape, numbering the masks. Then one at a time, peel the liner, place the cover in its mask and press firmly along its length and both edges. Remove the masking at the end and look the four over from a step back.
If a cover lifts at a corner the moment you let go, or a hairline gap stays open along one side of the post, don't press harder or trim it.
