What they are. Six pieces of styling trim for the posts beside the side windows. They don't change how the doors, glass or seals work. The corrosion resistance is in the 304 alloy itself.
How they mount. 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape bonds each cover to the post's current paint or trim. The CTS isn't drilled and keeps its trim. The Installation tab gives the temperature range and cure time.
Preparing six posts. Wax and polish have to go, and any chalky, crazed or lifting paint should be repaired, because the tape bonds to that top layer. Wash with car soap, rinse, dry completely, then wipe each post with rubbing alcohol on lint-free cloths until a clean section comes up clean. Look over every post for dents while you work.
Supplies: car soap and a bucket, rubbing alcohol, a large stack of lint-free cloths, painter's tape and a pencil for labelling. A helper standing a few paces from the CTS makes the six alignments quicker to judge and easier to keep consistent.
Fitting. Shade, dry air, no wind. Lay out the six next to the gallery and call us about any damage or missing piece. Label each cover on painter's tape for the post its photo shows. Liner on, hold a cover to its post, slide it until the reveal is even and tape its outline. Peel, set it in the outline and press firmly along the full length and both sides. Compare with its photo before reaching for the next.
When a cover argues back. Sometimes a piece bridges a slight hollow or stays high at one end. Don't lean on it; keep the liner attached and talk it through with us on 877-752-3811. After the full cure, treat the six to the same car-soap wash as the Cadillac's paint and dry them off with a soft towel.
