Wash with car soap, rinse well and let everything dry. Then wipe each post with rubbing alcohol on lint-free cloths, switching to a fresh fold until one comes away clean, and note any dents you feel.
Things to have nearby. A bucket of car-soap water, a bottle of rubbing alcohol, a thick stack of lint-free cloths, painter's tape, and a pencil for writing a post name on each tape label. A helper standing off the SUV's flank is the quickest way to judge six alignments.
Fitting. Choose shade and dry, still air. Lay the six beside the gallery, checking for bends or a missing piece, and call us if there's a problem. Label every cover for the post its photo shows. With the liner on, set one in place, ease it until the border is even, and run painter's tape around it. Peel, lower it into the outline and press firmly along its length and both edges. Compare it with its photo, then move on.
