Cosmetic. The six dress the posts; doors, glass and seals work as they always did. The 304 alloy holds off corrosion through its own makeup rather than a coating that could chip.
Mounting. Each cover mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape over the post's present surface. Nothing is drilled and no Cadillac trim is removed. The Installation tab gives temperatures and the cure period.
Preparing six posts. Start with soapy water, a rinse and a full dry. Then lift any wax or polish, and repair paint that's powdery, cracked or peeling, because the tape anchors to that layer. Degrease each post with rubbing alcohol on fresh lint-free cloth until nothing transfers, and run a fingertip down it for dents. Keep painter's tape, a pencil and a clean towel nearby.
Fitting. Choose shade and a calm, dry day. Check the six against the gallery and report any damage before starting. Dry-fit each with the liner on, ease it until the margin is even, and mask its outline, pencilling a number on the mask. Then, one cover at a time, pull the liner, set it in the mask and smooth it down firmly end to end and along both edges. Peel the masks away when you've finished and look the set over.
If one won't settle. Should a cover tip under your thumb or refuse to close up along an edge, don't force it and don't cut it. Rest it on a clean towel with its liner still on and call us at 877-752-3811; we'll sort it out with you. After the tape on the rest has had its full cure, the sedan's six covers need nothing beyond a car-soap wash and a soft towel to dry them.
