Product Description
PP17836: Six Polished Pillar Covers for the 2017-2022 Kia Sportage
PP17836 is the six-piece pillar post set for the 2017-2022 Kia Sportage 4-door SUV. It's the second of four Sportage sets, and the quickest way to understand where it sits is to read the notes on all four.
| SKU | Pieces | Note on the listing |
|---|---|---|
| PP17835 | 4 | None |
| PP17836 | 6 | None |
| PP17837 | 8 | Includes front mirror pieces |
| PP17838 | 10 | Includes front mirror pieces and front triangle pieces |
What that means for this set. This listing doesn't mention front mirror pieces or front triangle pieces. If you want either, the eight- or ten-piece set is the one that names them. Beyond those notes, none of the four listings says which pillars its covers dress, so compare the galleries for outlines that appear in one but not the others. Choose one set and order only that; check the photos before you order.
Who might pick six. Someone who finds four covers a little sparse but doesn't need the mirror or triangle shapes the bigger sets mention. Listed at $89.99, it sits between the smallest set and the two noted ones. The galleries will show whether its outlines are the ones you'd notice on your Sportage, so give them a proper look side by side before you settle on it. A photo of your own vehicle's side, taken from a few steps back, makes the comparison easier.
Fit. One row: Kia Sportage 2017-2022, 4-door, SUV. Confirm your model year, and for anything else call Quality Automotive Trims at 877-752-3811 with PP17836.
Material. Polished 26 gauge 304 stainless steel, made in the USA. No plating, so the bright face can't peel.
Mounting. Each Sportage cover attaches with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape over the existing pillar surface; nothing is drilled or removed. Temperatures and cure time are on the Installation tab.
Sportage parts alongside it. A four-piece door handle accent trim (DH17836); two four-piece body side molding accents at width 1, one noted "Lower fitment" (AT17835) and one "Upper fitment" (AT17836), so compare their photos before choosing; and a one-piece rear deck accent at width 1 (RD17835) for the back of the SUV. RW17835 and LB17835 are listed by number only.
Getting ready. Count six covers on arrival and check them against the photos. Report anything bent or missing before you start. Pick a dry, shaded day, and have mild soap, rubbing alcohol, clean cloths and painter's tape to hand.
Prep. Wash and rinse the Sportage's pillar areas, then dry them with a microfibre. Wipe each with rubbing alcohol, let it flash off, and lift any wax or ceramic coating where tape will go.
Fitting. Compare the covers with the photos, backings on. Offer each one up, sight down both edges, and mark its place with painter's tape, writing the location on the backing. When all six have a spot, peel and press one at a time, firmly from end to end and along both edges. Step back now and then to check that the lines look even.
Help. If a cover won't line up, keep its backing on and ring 877-752-3811.

Installation tips: Pillar Post Trim
- Unpack all 6 pieces and match each one to its position on the vehicle, using the product photos, before fitting any of them.
- Each piece mounts with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape, so clean and dry the mounting surface first; the tape needs paint or trim free of dirt and wax.
- Align the piece and press it firmly into place directly over the existing surface, working along its full length so the tape bonds evenly.
- Fit one piece at a time and compare each with the product photos and the pieces already in place.
These are general tips. Follow any instructions packed with your kit if they differ.
