The steel and the tape
The 1.5" Altima accent is 26-gauge 304 stainless with a mirror polish and no plating. It goes over the existing surface on 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape, and QAA says it will hold for a lifetime without harming the Nissan.
Clean first
Wash the trunk and dry it. Then wipe a band a little wider than the strip with a residue-free cleaner. Look along the lid for chips or clearcoat wear and fix them before going further, since tape can only grip as well as the paint beneath it.
Mounting it straight
Dry-fit with the liner on, using the photos. Equalize the gap from each end to the lid edges and mark the line with painter's tape. Peel only when you are happy, on a dry and mild day, then press from the center to the ends. The Installation tab lays out every step.
Matching rocker widths
The lower kit at 2.25 inches is the closest in feel to a 1.5-inch trunk strip; the insert kit is much slimmer, and the upper kit much broader. Choose based on the look you want.
After it is on
Wait a few days to wash, then use mild soap. Dry the lid so water does not spot the polish.
