Surface prep
Wash the gate and let it dry. Clean the footprint with a residue-free product until a fresh cloth comes away spotless.
Setting the line
Keep the liner on and position the strip from the photos. Measure each end to the gate edges and mark with painter's tape. If you're fitting the rear window trim, the bezel, or the bumper piece, hold those up too so the spacing works.
Mounting
On a dry day without temperature extremes, peel and press from the center out. Follow the Installation tab.
Care
Give the XT6 accent a few days before washing, then mild soap and a soft cloth.
Purpose
Decorative only; it doesn't replace any factory part, and since it's taped over the paint, the liftgate works exactly as it did.
Why polished stainless
The mirror look is the steel's own surface. On solid 304, a light scuff from bags or boxes going into the cargo area reveals more of the same metal, not a duller base underneath.
