The six covers are for appearance. Each one is a thin polished panel over a post between the side windows, and the doors, glass and seals work just as before. The alloy, 304 stainless, resists corrosion on its own rather than relying on a plated layer, so it won't peel. Normal washing keeps it clean.
They attach with 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape, directly over the existing surface, with no drilling. The Installation tab lists the temperature range and cure time; the tape is happiest on a dry, mild day out of direct sun.
Prepare all six posts before fitting any covers. The tape bonds to the finish that's already there, so a chalky, cracked, lifting or waxed surface will let it down. Repair or strip as needed, wash with car soap, dry, then wipe with rubbing alcohol on a lint-free cloth until it stays clean.
Once the posts are ready, lay out the six covers and check them against the photos. With the backings still on, mark each cover's position with painter's tape, all six of them. Then fit two at a time, pressing firmly along each cover's full length and both edges, and step back to compare. If one won't sit flush, keep its backing on and call 877-752-3811.
Gather car soap, a bucket, rubbing alcohol, lint-free cloths, painter's tape and a pencil before you start, and recruit a helper if you can. After the cure, wash the covers with the rest of the car.
