MI49303 Polished Stainless Molding Inserts for the 2009-2014 F-150 Super Cab With Flares and 6.5' Bed
Owners of a 2009-2014 Ford F-150 Super Cab with flares will find two 10-piece insert kits on this sheet, and the bed decides between them. MI49301 is tagged for the 5.5' bed. MI49303, this kit, is tagged for the 6.5' bed. Both use 1.5 inch strips of polished 304 stainless steel.
Measuring the bed
Open the tailgate, then close it again and run a tape measure along the bed floor from the inside of the front wall to the inside of the tailgate. Compare the result with the 6.5' tag. Preparing the truck
The strips sit on top of your existing moldings, so those moldings need to be intact and clean. Look for cracks, lifting ends and leftover adhesive and take care of them. Then wash with soap and water, dry, and wipe with rubbing alcohol, letting it flash off. A dry, mild day is best; the Installation tab gives the temperature range.
Also measure across one molding's flat face and compare it with the 1.5 inch strip width and the photos.
Fitting the strips
Lay the ten strips out by the photos and number the liners. Dry-fit each one with its liner on, keep ends near the flares clear unless the photos show otherwise, and mark the ends with painter's tape. Peel, set, and press firmly along the full length. A few strips, check the line from the front corner, then the rest.
