Made in the USA from 26-gauge 304 stainless steel, polished to a mirror finish. 3M automotive-grade acrylic foam tape holds it on, installed directly over the existing surface. No drilling. QAA states the tape will hold for a lifetime without causing any damage to the surface of the vehicle.
Placing a plain bar by eye
Without a cutout to lock the position, you set it by measurement. Clean the area with soap and water, dry, and wipe with rubbing alcohol. Hold the bar with its liner on, centered above the plate. Measure from each end of the bar to the plate's nearest edge until both numbers match. Check level from behind the car. Run painter's tape along the bottom edge as a guide, peel the liner, set the bar on the guide, and press firmly from the center out. Remove the guide and press again. Close the trunk gently for the first day. The Installation tab gives the temperature range.
